Hey everyone.
It’s 4:11 am in NY. I can’t sleep. It’s warm, 22 degrees. And it’s been raining. I’m at my desk writing and staring out the window. People are walking down the street even though it’s late. Trucks are rattling down the hill on their way to the freeway. But this is a quiet for my street.
I left an AirTag in Melbourne and FindMy says I’m 16,675 km’s from home. A distance that is hard to make sense of.
I’ve been missing home a lot lately. But I’ve also been enjoying the expansiveness of this city.
Each week, I continue to talk to people about work, sharing my folio and telling my story. It’s a humbling experience which I’m sure I’ll write more about soon. But some of the best creative minds live here and I’m grateful to be here learning and also contributing.
As always, I’ve been finding great art and music and everything else which I’ll share below. Would also love to know what has got your attention lately.

A Language of Limbs
If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen me raving about my best friends new novel. It’s called ‘A Language of Limbs’ and it’s wonderful. If you’re in Australia you can but it now. I had to print the whole thing off at the local print shop here which cost $48. Buy it here.

brat
There’s not enough time to write everything about the brat album roll out. But I think the work is brilliant. It was done by Special Offer Inc. and @imonge. The font is Arial and yesterday Charlie xcx posted that Kamala Harris ‘is brat’, which sent twitter into a spin. Her campaign team have run with it though.

Music
salute released a new album and 2 hour essential mix. The intro/first two songs of the mix are perfect.
House legend Armand Van Helden did a Boiler Room set full of all your childhood bangers (that he produced). The crowd doesn’t seem to get it, but trust me, it’s fun.
I stumbled upon this set from German/Korean DJ Hunee which is 8 years old and just amazing.

Fashion
There is a very cool, very hype store in the Lower East Side called Le Père. They throw parties with different rappers and musicians. I think I go there once a week, but haven’t bought anything. They did a great collaboration with one of my favorite artists, Bráulio Amado. I did buy a shirt from Brigade, a local NYC brand which make some nice things and seem really lovely.

Bluuuuuuurrrrrrrrrr
Kat - the Poet Engineer is on Twitter making all kinds of weird experiments which I love. I think the future comes from people and places like this. Nerds and passionate creatives hacking away at home on things that don’t make sense today, but will one day be everywhere.

Just RunSame Dape is on Twitter making fun UI experiments. His running app idea went viral and I think he might build it. I think it's fantastic and fits with how I think we should be thinking about data and tracking ourselves - which is basically, a little is helpful and a lot is not.
